Notes
- This appetizer pairs well with a variety of crackers. I recommend whole grain or multigrain crackers for a healthier option.- If you're not a fan of walnuts or pistachios, feel free to substitute with other nuts like almonds or pecans.- If figs are not in season, you can use dried figs or even substitute with other fruits like pears or apples.- Remember, you can prepare this dish ahead of time and simply warm it up in the oven for 5 minutes before serving. However, serving it warm is highly recommended to fully enjoy the creamy, melted goat cheese.- For the goat cheese, I highly recommend using Cypress Grove Goat Cheese, which can be found at Whole Foods. It has a fantastic flavor that pairs beautifully with the sweetness of the figs and honey.
