Exploring Uncommon Mushroom Recipes

As a mushroom enthusiast, I’ve taken familiar products like mushroom broth, salt, and powder and crafted my own versions, infusing them with personal twists and unique flavors. Some of these, like mushroom chips and jerky, have become favorite snacks, while others have added surprising depth to my cooking. Here are a few of the uncommon mushroom recipes I’ve developed in Marzi’s Mushroom Masterpieces.

  • Mushroom Broth – My take on a rich, umami-packed broth that’s perfect for soups or as a comforting sipping base.
  • Citrus Mushroom Salt – A handcrafted blend of dehydrated mushrooms ground into powder, mixed with pink Himalayan salt, and a citrusy kick from ground dried lemons. This versatile seasoning brings a zesty, savory boost to any dish.
  • Mushroom Jerky – Marinated for days in a soy sauce mixture and then dehydrated for 11 hours, this smoky, chewy snack offers a delicious plant-based alternative to traditional jerky.
  • Maitake Mushroom Chips (Air-Fried) – A healthier version of chips made by air-frying maitake mushrooms until crispy, perfect for a light snack.
  • King Oyster Mushroom Chips (Deep-Fried) – A richer, deep-fried alternative, creating crispy, golden chips with a satisfying crunch.
  • Mushroom Powder – My homemade version of finely ground dried mushrooms, perfect for adding depth and umami to broths, sauces, or seasoning mixes.
  • Carob & Mushroom Chocolate Bars – A delightful fusion of carob and medicinal mushroom powders, resulting in a sweet treat with potential health benefits.
  • Mushroom Jam – A savory-sweet spread made from sautéed mushrooms and onions, ideal for pairing with cheeses, toast, or as a unique topping for burgers.

Even if similar products exist, my homemade versions come with my own twist—like the citrusy zing in my mushroom salt—bringing exciting new flavors to the table. These recipes showcase the versatility of mushrooms, offering creative ways to enjoy them from snacks to seasonings and even dessert!
